Boating under the Influence

Back to Videos

Video Transcript

Fun on the water is one of the best parts of the South Florida lifestyle. But a great boating trip can turn tragic in a heartbeat if the driver doesn’t keep safety in mind, at all times.

South Florida Personal Injury Attorney Scott Smith says enjoy the ride, but if the “captain of your ship” is under the influence, or just acting recklessly behind the wheel… and someone in your vessel or another is injured, that driver could find himself in a boatload of trouble.

Any operator of a boat or vessel can be held legally responsible for operating in a negligent reckless or irresponsible manner. That is the law in the state of Florida it applies to one operating a motor vehicle and it certainly applies to one operating a boat or vessel as well.

If you’ve been the victim of a boating accident because of someone being negligent, reckless or irresponsible, make sure your rights are protected. Call Scott Smith or visit scottsmithpersonalinjury.com
