His family is deeply rooted in the practice of law on the island, highlighted by his grandfather (and mentor) who was an attorney for over 50 years in Aguadilla, and his great-grandfather who was a judge in Mayaguez. As a native Spanish speaker, Nelson has always sought opportunities to use his language skills. In law school, he interned at the law office of Moreno & de la Torre Abogados in Grenada Spain. In Palm Beach County, he serves on the board of the Guatemalan Mayan Center and is a past President of the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association. As a Spanish speaker, Nelson can assist his Hispanic clients to understand and navigate their personal injury cases in their own language.
