Congratulations to Nelson E. Báez for Receiving the Justice Labarga Leadership Award
We are thrilled to congratulate Nelson E. Báez of Smith, Ball, Báez & Prather for receiving the prestigious Justice Labarga Leadership Award. This annual award, named in honor of Justice Jorge Labarga the first Cuban American to lead Florida’s judicial branch, recognizes exemplary leadership within the Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association. Justice Labarga, who serves as the event’s guest host each year, presents this esteemed award during the annual gala.
This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable evening, complete with dinner, dancing, live entertainment, and the much-anticipated awards ceremony. The celebration not only highlights outstanding contributions to the legal community but also brings together members to honor their shared heritage and achievements.
Upon receiving the award, Mr. Báez shared his thoughts:
“I am truly honored to receive the Justice Labarga Leadership Award. When I found out I was receiving this award, I immediately thought of my grandfather, who was an attorney for over 50 years in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and my inspiration for becoming a lawyer. I am proud to honor his legacy and make a small impact in our Hispanic community.”
In addition to congratulating Nelson, we would also like to recognize Angie Pagan, who has been named the 2024 Member of the Year. Angie’s tireless dedication and contributions to the organization have not gone unnoticed, and this recognition is well deserved.
“Preparense todos para una fiesta!” Mr. Báez added, as he expressed his excitement for the upcoming event. We hope to see everyone on October 5th for a night of celebration, community and joy.
Once again, congratulations to Nelson E. Báez on this well-deserved honor. Your leadership and commitment to our community continue to inspire us all.
